If you think of "Debian" when you think of "downstream" (because of
referring to [2] :-), the package in Debian Experimental contains that
fix and I plan to do one more screen upload to Experimental and then
upload the package to Debian Unstable. That way it should become part
of the next Debian Stable release.

Of course an official release instead of a git snapshot would be way
cooler. :-)
