Follow-up Comment #1, bug #34075 (project screen):
You can use the 'rendition' command to specify how a monitor-ed window with
'unseen output' shows up in the window-list. For example,
rendition monitor rg
in your .screenrc will cause such a window to show up in red-over-green text
in the windowlist (i.e. in '%+Lw' or '%-Lw' outputs).
I personally set finch to beep when an IM comes in, or someone says my name in
IRC/MUC, and use 'rendition bell' in screen to highlight the window (since
many other events, e.g. someone in the buddylist signing out/in can trigger
'monitor').
