1) There are no patents on any of the 3D structures we use.
2) Deposition of the 3D structure into the PDB database requires the author to
disclaim the copyright - hence it is public domain.

Almost all structures included with relax fall into this category.  For the
others that we closely work with, we know for certain that there are no
patents.  So for the patent-side of IP law, yes.  For copyright, no.  For the
other pillars of IP law (trademark, design patent, etc.), this is not
applicable.

But a photo uploaded by the original author to a database, upon which the
author must agree to make the photo public domain, can naturally be assumed to
be public domain.
