==== Description: ====
The PythonWebkit project provides full W3C DOM bindings
to Webkit, the Free Software Web Browser engine, for use
with GTK, Qt4 and more.

Existing Webkit Python bindings are incomplete or slow;
the PythonWebkit project makes python the equal of
javascript by providing full access to all W3C DOM
functions, events and properties (such as onclick and
getElementsByTagName).

The PyQt4 bindings provide a means to run and interact with
javascript: even if it were possible to execute javascript
snippets from python to provide access to full W3C DOM
functionality in this way, it is still much slower than
direct python access to Webkit's DOM.

PyWebkitGTK provides nothing more than a means to pull up
webkit in a GTK window: there is no way to interact with
the DOM.

Webkit-GObject provides incomplete bindings that python
gobject can in turn bind to; even if the project were
complete, there would still be an extra layer of
indirection, and Webkit-GObject has been limited to
GTK.

PythonWebkit therefore provides the missing link between
python and Webkit's DOM functions, making it possible to
develop powerful graphical applications quickly and easily
in Python.
