* Name: *choicetool*
* System Name: *choicetool*
* Type: non-GNU software & documentation
* License: GNU General Public License v2 or later (I'm submitting this
project as a non-GNU software because it needs to be hosted in order to get
more feedbacks, patches ... and some more developers ...
It needs to reach an alpha-stage of development in order to have some value.
When the alpha-stage will be reached it will be submitted to the GNU Software
Evaluation)
----
==== Description: ====
Choicetool is a configuration management tool like CML2 (see
http://www.catb.org/~esr/cml2/cml2-reference.html) or Linux kernel kconfig
(see http://kernel.org/doc/#kconfig).
It uses an input description in order to know the configuration symbols and
their relations and creates a script that should be shipped with a package in
order to let the user configure its options interactively.
It should work with (and even without) the autotools (like autotools'
libtool).
==== Other Software Required: ====
guile (required version > 1.6.x) - GPL - http://www.gnu.org/software/guile
perl (required) - Artistic/GPL- (version >= 5.8.0)
Perl is used as a building tool. You should see this requirement at the same
level as in the autotools (automake uses perl, its output does not depend on
perl ... it is the same here: the output of choicetool is a bare script ... so
it does not need perl)
