(currently under the GNU GPLv2, changes shall soon be GPLv3.)

To quote my install.rdf, "FPM [Free Package Manager] is (or should become) a
modern, intelligent, cross-platform package manager designed to be simple and
elegant, yet uncompromising on power and flexibility."

It is being developed as a Firefox (& IceWeasel) extension.

The primary motivation for this was and is FreeCD, a CD distribution of
select free software (for different OSes), much like OpenCD but ambassador to
the ideals of free software as opposed to open source, and also shipping
software to be managed by a very intelligent software manager, since I
consider such things as ease of updating software very important from at least
a security standpoint.

FPM is step 1 in producing FreeCD, which I would love to launch a very well
finished version of some Software Freedom Day (handing out OpenCDs seems
kinda... questionable to me).
