Description:

  Gnash is a fork of the GameSWF project with the purpose of turning it into
a GNU Flash movie player that runs as both a Firefox plugin, but also
standalone. At this point, the interpreter in Gnash has a reasonably good SWF
v7 compliance, and is the closest to becoming a full-featured flash player in
a reasonable amount of time.

The existing GameSWF code is licensed as "public domain, do what you want".
All new code that I've add is GPL'd. Over time, the public domain files will
become GPL'd as more extensive changes are made.

An initial URL is http://www.welcomehome.org/gnash/. This will become the web
site on savannah. Initial docs and a code snapshot are there now.

  RMS has already approved this as a GNU project, the email went to
savannah-hackers the other day. I've been working with him on the licensing
issues as well.
