Hi Sebastian,

Thank you very much for reviewing our work! I have included my answers within your texts....

Follow-up Comment #1:

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

At first, please notice that we only host projects that can run on a free
operating system (such as GNU/Linux).

We have adopted this policy because now that completely free operating
systems exist, we do not want to encourage users of those systems to start
using proprietary operating
systems so that they can use your program.

If you are willing to maintain a version for free operating systems, which
work as well as or better than other ports, you can then provide versions for
non-free systems as well.
The idea is that at no point should only-free users be at a disadvantage
compared to users of proprietary software.

Your project should always work equally well in free systems as in any other
version you provide; if you have some modules for non-free systems, you can
delay their release until you have released the free operating system
version.

Do you agree with this policy?
Yes I absolutely and passionately agree with it. To my knowledge we talk about and promote gnu/linux within all our texts. We have released (in savannah) aroundme and beacon which also follow the same ethical approach.

At second, please include copyright and license information in your xml and
your binary files (such as jpg, png), too.
For the binary files, include in their directories a README file and write
their the copyright/license notices for these files down.
For your pdf you should include the tex file, too.
Please accept my apologies. The download I gave you has files in the /assets/ directory which will not be included in the released version. The only (non text) files are in templates/barnraiser01/img/ . A note about them is included in the main README file, however I will happily put a text file in that directory. I will copy the one that can be found in /languages/1/texts/ - Just to note, I will also do this with the next versions of aroundme and beacon as this error was not picked up on before now.

If you would like to release your documentation files (pdf,tex,...) properly
and unambiguously under the FDL,
please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements after the
title page of each work.
Oh yes, of course - I will do that immediately. I will place that in the /docs/ directory.

In addition, if you haven't already, please add a copy of the FDL
(available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html in various formats)
as a section of your works , and as plain text in a file named 'COPYING'

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html#SEC4

http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl-howto.html also covers additional points,
including a smaller notice that you can use in auxiliary files.

At third, can you include copyright and license in speller/speller*, too, or
ask the author of this to give you a version with appropriate notices.
will do. It is gpl.

At fourth, note that Firefox uses the triple license GNU GPL + GNU LGPL +
MPL.

All code hosted at Savannah needs to be compatible with the GNU GPL, so you
have to take care of that issue.

And at last, the ddress of the FSF has changed, and is now:

51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA 02110-1301 USA

Please update your license notices.

Updates versions of the GPL, LGPL and GFDL can also be found at:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt

Please update the copy of the license (usually, the 'COPYING' file) in your
package as well.
Will do.

You can find some background and a possible migration script at
https://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3766

Fantastic - thanks for the tip.

Look forward to your updated tarball.
Regards,
I have about 12 bugs that I want to remove on Tuesday and Wednesday. Would it be ok to send you the new tarball on Wednesday evening?

Thanks again Sebastian - we really appreciate the efforts of all the folks at savannah!!

Tom
