  NAME
     wst - WLAN station tracker

SYNOPSIS
  wst [-h|-m] [-A on/off] [-B ms] [-H ms] [-W linewidth] [-F Hz]
      [-t] [-i interface] [-f cfilter] [-r rfilter | -m MAC ]

DESCRIPTION
This program helps to find WLAN stations by MAC address.
The WLAN card must be put before manually into monitor mode
with PRISM headers enabled (device driver dependend, see below)
and locked to the WLAN channel of the sending station.
A tethereal subprocess is forked and the signal
strength from the sniffed packets are audiovisually presented.
Exponential functions are used in order to discriminate the
signal level with best results at the current maximum.

Best results are achieved by low gain, directional antennas.
Tests showed that simple, flat indoor antennas like the
Huber+Suhner (2400/75/9/0 or similar) are sufficient if the
WLAN cards have no annoying internal omnidirectional antennas.
High gain antennas are not useful due to the nature of the
limited, stepped RSSI representation inside the WLAN cards!

the perl script can be temporarily downloaded at:

Other Software Required:
------------------------
  DRIVER SPECIFICS
    orinoco
Patches for monitor mode with PRISM headers supporting
are needed. The patches may be found as time of this
        writing under:

            http://airsnort.shmoo.com/orinocoinfo.html

REQUIREMENTS
tethereal, Audio::Beep, Term::ReadKey and a WLAN card in monitor
    mode with PRISM headers enabled.
