Follow-up Comment #1:

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

Your project requires proprietary software and cannot be hosted on Savannah
for this reason.

Indeed, gpc is released under this license:

This software is free for non-commercial use. It may be copied,

modified, and redistributed provided that this copyright notice

is preserved on all copies. The intellectual property rights of

the algorithms used reside with the University of Manchester

           Advanced Interfaces Group.

You may not use this software, in whole or in part, in support

of any commercial product without the express consent of the

           author.

There is no warranty or other guarantee of fitness of this

software for any purpose. It is provided solely "as is".

which is non-free.

Savannah is willing to provide resources and time to developers writing Free
Software that can be used without the need to ask permission from proprietary
software vendor.

Besides, the author uses the vague term "intellectual property" regarding the
algorithm, which makes me wonder whether his university registered a patent
for it.

I think the wisest choice is to contact the gpc author and ask him and his
university to re-release gpc as free software.

address@hidden can provide help for this.

If, someday, you get free of this proprietary dependency, do not hesitate to
resubmit your project.

Thank you for your understanding.
