Pardon me for jumping in--I'm not one of the savannah
hackers--but I think a better place for this would be:

while this mailing list:
http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/make-w32
would probably be better still. The archives of that
mailing list might be helpful, too. If a prebuilt binary
would meet your needs, that mailing list's archives say
where you can find one.
