Jesse Lovelace <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: YardSale - Open Point of Sale System
System name: yardsale
Type: non-GNU
Description:
YardSale is a completely open-source (GPL) point of sale software. YardSale
will use wxWindows for cross-platform GUI, MySQL for database, Crypto++ for
security, and will run on Linux natively. YardSale is the senior design
project of Jesse Lovelace and Adam Parish at North Carolina State University.
Our project has been approved by the CSC department and our team is assembled.
Our software will allow users to create a fully functional point of sale
environment using almost any hardware setup. In addition, we will write
interfaces to devices such as bar-code scanners and cash drawers.
YardSale is currently in planning stage. We have divided the project into a
server and a client. The server manages all DB activities while the client is
the clerk/sales interface. There is no code currently for YardSale as we are
finishing our design--however, we plan to ramp up quickly.
Other Software Required:
wxWindows
Crypto++
MySQL
