Never heard about that but it could be done by a company familiar to 
Free Software. 
(despite the fact that it's not an usual activity for me, I've been hired by 
the CERN several times for this purpose).

as a collaboration tool in smaller companies ?" 
 
It should be possible. 
 
"For a small company like the one I work in (10-25 
developers) that only wants to use the software without 
having to invest a lot of work (and money) into 
installation and maintenance of a dedicated savannah 
installation, it would be attracttive to make use of 
savannah in combination with professional services." 
 
There are 3 options : 
        - if your company developments can be done publicly and is 
conform to the Savannah policy (described in the FAQ entry about the 
registration process), we can be the host. 
        - or you try to find a company/person that you would pay to 
maintain for your company a decidated Savannah installation (in fact, it 
is very easy to run different Savannah servers with virtual hosts and the 
same software installation).

I was wondering whether there is people out there that

offer professional installation/maintenance support for

Savannah or whether it is even possible to use Savannah

as a collaboration tool in smaller companies ?



I checked out VA-Software's site and there enterprise

sourceforge offer, which is not inexpensive. The

alternative would be to use Savannah (if possible with

respect to its license). 



For a small company like the one I work in (10-25

developers) that only wants to use the software without

having to invest a lot of work (and money) into

installation and maintenance of a dedicated savannah

installation, it would be attracttive to make use of

savannah in combination with professional services.



Besides that it would support Savannah each time its

user base becomes larger and it would be nice to

contribute to that process instead of being just a

customer of yet another regular software vendor like VA.



Any hints/pointers where I would have to look for

further   information regarding this issue ?
