A package was submitted to savannah.nongnu.org
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Gavin Brown <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Perl Panel
System name: perlpanel
Type: non-GNU
Description:
PerlPanel is an attempt to build a useable, lean panel program (like Gnome's
gnome-panel and KDE's Kicker) in Perl, using Gtk2. Although quite young, we
have currently implemented:
* Object-oriented design for easy customisation and extension.
* Applet architecture that means that you can create an applet in a matter of
minutes. This architecture is fully documented.
* Implements a number of useful Gnome-like functions (eg request_string()) in
pure Gtk to avoid requiring Gnome.
* A wide range of applets, including an Icon Bar and a Blackbox-compatible
launcher menu.
* A pure Gtk2-Perl .desktop file editor.
The project website is at http://jodrell.net/projects/perlpanel. From here you
can download source code from releases and view the CVS repository.
Other Software Required:
Perl
Gtk+ v2
XML::Simple
Other Comments:
I have now updated all the code files to include a copyright and license
notice, and have added a COPYING file.
