A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Timo Laine <address@hidden> described the package as follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Community Web
System name: cw
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
Description:
The aim of the project is to build a fairly portable and extensible community
web site system, consisting of a separate backend and frontend. It will contain
facilities at least for forums, weblogs, resource galleries and such things.
Note that we are not aiming to build a web site, but only the software.
The idea developed from the fact that there is no free software that can do
what we want. The solutions that are available are usually either too complex
or too inflexible, or both. Our project, if successful, should enable free
software users to quickly bring up community sites when needed, and reduce the
dependence on proprietary solutions.
It does not exist yet but I\'m working on it.
Other Software Required:
We will use a relational database, and try to support both PostgreSQL and MySQL
(or at least one of them). We will code in PHP.
