A package was submitted to savannah.gnu.org.
This mail was sent to address@hidden, address@hidden
Javier Fernandez-Sanguino Peña <address@hidden> described the package as
follows:
License: gpl
Other License:
Package: Tiger UNIX security system auditor
System name: tiger
This package does NOT want to apply for inclusion in the GNU project
Description:
TIGER, or the \'tiger\' scripts, is a set of Bourne shell
scripts, C programs and data files which are used to perform
a security audit of UNIX systems. The security audit results are
useful both to do system analysis (security auditing) as well as to
check in real-time tests to systems (host-based intrusion detection)
The original Tiger, available at
<a
href=\"http://www.net.tamu.edu/ftp/security/TAMU\">http://www.net.tamu.edu/ftp/security/TAMU</A>
has suffered for some fragmentation, including the
<a href=\"http://www-arc.com/tara/index.shtml\">TARA</A> version and
<a href=\"http://packages.debian.org/tiger\">Debian GNU/Linux</A> version.
This project has been created in order to unite all the free software
efforts and produce a new Tiger version. Including support beyond the one given
to Debian GNU/Linux packages.
Other Software Required:
Tiger needs a standard POSIX shell to run, a C compiler if you wish to compile
the binaries used and some other (optional) utilities, including the standard
UNIX file utilities and text utilities (the GNU versions work fine for this).
