------------------ Additional Follow-up Comments ----------------------------
webmastering gnu.org project have only a www cvs, no source code CVS (since
normally the only purpose of the account is webmastering gnu.org). That's the
reason why there's no sample regarding to a potential source code CVS.

If this project really use the source code CVS, it's a problem. We have to
option:
  - set a source code CVS for www.gnu.org projects too
  - register a new project for the software/scripts used by this project

I vote for the second choice: if this project use script/software, it can be
interesting for other project and people does not expect to find this on a
webmastering gnu.org project.

=================== BUG #1349: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT ===================

Submitted by: hgayosso Project: Savannah
Submitted on: 2002-Oct-07 03:16
Category: CVS Severity: 1 - Enhancement
Priority: Low Bug Group: None
Resolution: Works for me Assigned to: yeupou
Status: Open Effort: 0.00

Summary: CVS help page is misleading and mistaken.

Original Submission: The page: https://savannah.gnu.org/cvs/?group=gnueval

Only shows an example of checking out the HTML tree, but no example on how to
check out a source module is provided, plus even that example is not complete
as it doesn't show that there should be a module name in the line to be
executed (yes, if the people is familiar with CVS this could be identified
easily, but if that person is not, then we have a problem).

Also, the example for the HTML tree appears under:

"Developer CVS Access via ....."

which is misleading as "developer" is more associated with source code than
with web pages.

My proposal to fix this is to show an example to check out the source code (I
think there was one in the past, actually), something like this:

Source tree:

export CVS_RSH=ssh
cvs -z3 address@hidden:/cvsroot/gnueval co MODULENAME
