Subject: out-of-date help pages misleadingly suggest samizdat has stopped
    development ?

hi all,

IMHO the main samizdat page

http://www.nongnu.org/samizdat/

should be updated so that it looks less outdated and will need less
frequent updating. At the moment, it lets the user think that samizdat
development stopped two years ago...

The news page could possibly also be updated, but that's more work and
i'm not sure if it's urgent right now - maybe just add a link to the
mailing list on the news page?
http://www.nongnu.org/samizdat/news.html

And the download page points to the latest releases, since it just links
to pages which themselves get updated:
http://www.nongnu.org/samizdat/download.html

Anyway, my main suggestion is on:

http://www.nongnu.org/samizdat/

> Latest Release: Samidat 0.5.4 (2004-10-22)

> Download
> > * samizdat-0.5.4.tar.gz (113k)

i suggest putting:

Latest Stable Release: Samidat 0.5.4 (2004-10-22)

Download

<li> latest stable: <a href="http://savannah.nongnu.org/download/samizdat/samizdat-0.5.4.tar.gz";>samizdat-0.5.4.tar.gz (113k)</a> | <a href="http://packages.debian.org/cgi-bin/search_packages.pl?keywords=samizdat&searchon=names&subword=1&version=all&release=all";>debian packet</a> | <a href="http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/samizdat/";>latest snapshot</a> | <a href="https://savannah.nongnu.org/cvs/?group=samizdat";>CVS</a>

This is essentially what i've put up the top of the twiki (back online in https mode, though work is still in progress):

cheers
boud
