Follow-up Comment #1:
This was a mistake! It was actually a crash in Python's Cryptography package
and cffi was successfully installed!
Upon updating Cryptography to its latest version and trying it out, I found
out that it now also depends on 'setuptools-rust', that was crashing with
another error, so I just defined bug #61731 to follow that issue there.
