Hi,

I know this from my Lenovo laptop that it beeps when there is a hardware issue, 
e.g. CPU overheating. It's definitely not rdiff-backup which beeps. The beeps 
generally have a meaning you need to decrypt, possibly helped by an app from 
your vendor.
