...which is now available as Ubuntu packages in my own PPA at
https://launchpad.net/~andol/+archive/ppa
Assuming the packages work out ok they will be copied to the "real" PPA
in a couple of days. That repository can be found at
https://launchpad.net/~rdiff-backup-pkgs/+archive/ppa
