For OpenSUSE users, they may be interested that stable versions of
rdiff-backup are available in their build service:

I don't see 1.2.2 yet, but assume it will be there in a few days.

FYI: I know the build service will support numerous distros, I don't
know how an additional distro is added to their proces for any given
package.  See the search pull-down for what is theoretically
supported.
