Interesting. Again, the MacOSX sshfs doesn't seem to do this. :)

However, this behavior seems very similar to a situation that can occur
with AFS according to this bug report:
http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?21202

Now that sshfs on Linux has been shown to do this as well, I will look
and see if rdiff-backup should try and make more sense out of it.
