Hello,
I tried using rdiff-backup for saving a directory from a computer (running
debian etch) on another computer (running debian sarge). rdiff-bakcup
complains that the two versions where not the same. I had to install the
"etch" version of rdiff on the "sarge" box; it worked, but is perhaps not
the good solution.
I'm wondering what is the policy of rdiff-backup regarding the difference
of version : is there always a request for exact match of the version
numbers of the source and target rdiff? Or is there guarantees that,
during a certain revision number, versions are compatible?
I didn't found any information about this request for identity of version
in the documentation but was probably to hasty; please don't hesitate to
give me the reference if it is documented.
Cheers,
Sylvain
