Hello Dean,

i have reworked the manpage and created the requested patch.

Before applying , please re-check twice.

For example i'm unsure about "--remote-cmd".

I found an old manpage, where this param was inside.
seems it has been removed after being deprecated for a while.
but - if it`s like this, i wonder why it`s being left in the code.

This is being added to the manpage (merged in alphabetical order):

--carbonfile
Enable backup of MacOS X carbonfile information.

--no-acls
No Access Control Lists - disable backup of ACL`s

--no-carbonfile
Disable backup of MacOS X carbonfile information.

--no-eas
No Extended Attributes support - disable backup of EA`s

--override-chars-to-quote
If the filesystem to which we are backing up is not case-sensitive, automatic 'quoting' of characters occurs. For example, a file 'Developer.doc' will be converted into ';068eveloper.doc'. To override this behavior, you need to specify this option.

--remote-cmd
Deprecated. Please use --remote-schema instead

regards
roland

Good evening,

i came across http://savannah.nongnu.org/bugs/?func=detailitem&item_id=16447 today.

bug #16447: manpage not in sync w/ current options

i took a deeper look into that, and found that rdiff-backup 1.1.5 has the following options, which ar not mentioned in the manpage:

--carbonfile
--no-carbonfile
--no-acls
--no-eas
--override-chars-to-quote
--remote-cmd

i don`t know, if this is intentional - but - if not, here is a first try to add documentation to this options - please
add your comments/corrections:

--carbonfile enable backup of Mac OS X carbonfile information.[Insert explanation of what is a carbonfile here. i don`t know]

--no-carbonfile disable backup of Mac OS X carbonfile information. (default)

--no-acls no Access Control Lists - disable backup of ACL`s

--no-eas no Extended Attributes support - disable backup of EA`s

--override-chars-to-quote [don`t have a clue - insert explanation here]

--remote-cmd it seems that this has been deprecated and replaced by --remote-schema, but if it is available with rdiff-backup, it should be mentioned in the manpage, too

roland
