as long as you keep the rdiff-backup-data directory and everything in it and its increments intact, you should be fine. just move the stuff, and update the backup script and it will kick along merrily

As long as you're not moving it between *nix and Windows. Windows drives don't allow file names containing ':', which the *nix version creates many of in the rdiff-backup-data directory. Possibly there are other such capability differences to take note of.
