[rdiff-backup-users] Problems after manually deleting files |

Hi.
I have been so foolish to delete a directory in my backup by hand. Now I
cannot make backups, I get the following error:
$ rdiff-backup --terminal-verbosity=5 -b address@hidden::/backup /backup
Executing ssh -C address@hidden rdiff-backup --server
Previous backup seems to have failed, regressing destination now.
Regressing to Tue Aug 19 11:21:18 2003
Warning, metadata file has entry for bipper/data/dev,
but there are no associated files.

I then tried to use --remove-older-than to remove the references to this
directory. I have never use --remove-older-than before now, and I think
there might be some trouble with it on my system:
$ rdiff-backup --remove-older-than 1D /backup/bipper/data/dev

What can I do to "refresh" the metadata file, so I can run backups again,
and why does my --remove-older-than fail?
I have searched the docs and mailing list archived without any luck.
Thanks in advance.
