Actually, the option `--with-imagelib' is not necessary. Sorry. (It is
not me, but the description in the `configure' which was at fault!
Truthfully!)

Please make sure that one of Imlib/Imlib2/Gdk-pixbuf libraries are
available! The libraries above are not available on my system (I am
using pre-compiled w3m files -- via Debian package), so on doing a
vanilla `./configure', the config.log file gives me:

   configure:6742: checking if image is enabled
   configure:6751: result: yes
   configure:6785: checking image library
   configure:6798: result: gtk2 gdk-pixbuf imlib imlib2
   configure:6849: WARNING: GdkPixbuf is not installed. Install GdkPixbuf
(version >= 2.0.0)
   configure:6871: WARNING: GdkPixbuf is not installed. Install GdkPixbuf
(version >= 0.16.0)
   configure:6893: WARNING: Imlib is not installed. Install Imlib (version >=
1.9.8)
   configure:6914: WARNING: Imlib2 is not installed. Install Imlib2 (version
>= 1.0.5)
   configure:6960: WARNING: unable to build w3mimgdisplay with X11 support
   configure:6996: WARNING: unable to build w3mimgdisplay with FB support
