The idea was to use ranger as file browser for attachments in mutt.
There is a parallel discussion in the mutt-users mailing list.

If I make a selection of multiple files I would expect all of them
to be attached. At the moment it cannot be done with ranger. A
choosefiles option would solve this deficit. That's why I asked for
this feature.
