On my system I see errors similar to yours, if I start qemu as a different user than my currently logged in user. To hear audio with ALSA I specify the audio device to use on the command line. The first number after hw: is the card number and the second the device number. To list your audio devices use aplay -l and arecord -l. Please note the doubled ,, to pass a single , to alsa-lib.
