-drive syntax

Hello qemu users.

I have three questions about the -drive syntax.

1) I have see the syntax "-drive id=SOMEID",
   but the id option is not documented in the man page,
   what's the meaning of the id option and when to use it?

2) what's the meaning of if=none and when to use it?

3) why there is no if=sata,
   is SATA disks treated as IDE/ATA disks?
