I just compiled qemu-3.1.0 this day on debian sid, works without problems so far...

How did you test? Did you just use a binary-distribution not targeted at your OS or did you compile from source? Which targets i386? arm? ...?

Such a misbehaviour is very serious if it is caused by a program. I don't want to blame you, but I suspect something went wrong before you started qemu-system-... that SIGSEGVed...

Greets,

Nils

Hi,
How can I get the RPM for qemu-3.1.0? In the website it is stated that the command is "yum install qemu-kvm" however, that is pretty old for Centos 7.
Any idea?

To be honest I have seen no evidence that 3.1.0 works on Debian or
FreeBSD or anywhere else I have tested.  For reasons unknown it merely
SIGSEGV faults and at best I see guest machines attempt to boot and then
throw many many errors before the SIGSEGV.

It may be best to wait until that final digit zero revs up with some
patches and fixes.
