I have bridge on my Linux PC:
# brctl show
bridge name     bridge id               STP enabled     interfaces
br1             8000.001b210e62eb       no              enp4s1
                                                        wlan0
But I run hostapd on wlan0, I don't know if it works as a client, but I suspect 
it does.
