Hi,
I am still having a problem with PCI passthrough for PCIe network
cards.
I seem to have 'kind of' success with the e1000e based 82574L port. It seems
to pass through okay.
Both the host and the virtual machine are on kernel 3.14.10
Both boot with kernel option pcie_aspm=off
If the virtual machine is shut down and then started up again, I get
errors within the virtual machine like:
irq 44: nobody cared
eth1 reset adapter unexpectedly.
I tried setting the virtual machine to have irqpoll=on and then boom,
the
whole host had a kernel panic.
The 82580 quad port card apparently uses the igb driver and it does not
do well at all. Even on the initial start of the virtual machine (if an 82580
interface is assigned to it) I get errors in the virtual machine and no
network connectivity at all. Errors are igb detected tx unit hang. They loop
and continue.
Any hints?
Derek
