Hello,

excuse me please if this is a double post, but I am not sure if my first question on the developer list is placed at the right place.

we like to use our rescue system on a remote server at a hosting provider of dedicated servers(kimsufi.com) as QEMU host to install a operating systems like Linux or Windows on these servers.

What settings would you suggest to use in case of the cpu is a E3-1225V2 (should be Ivy Bridge) for -cpu and -M?
"-cpu host" is not reliable/safe to use it if I understand this on qemu.org, right?

In the QEMU installation on Debian Wheezy there is Ivy Bridge not listed when I use "qemu-system-x86_64 -cpu ?" .
Should it be listed?

Wouldn't it be nice to have a list/table of suggested processor settings for let the guest system acting like given host cpu ?

Peter
