Update:
FYI - Same issue happened with a git clone of qemu
I tried qemu-kvm-1.2.0, and that works, so I have a work-around.

Very strange problem here. The vga screen window is blank,
but the screendumps taken from compatmonitor0 show the screen
is not blank.
Tried with a couple of different images (which I know work
[images ran on another system] and are booting - tested
linux images via -curses runs fine, and screendumps taken
with -vga show it is booting also)

This is a newly installed system - slackware 14.1 (3.10.17 kernel) 64 bit. Running xfce4.10 on i7-3632QM / 12 GB ram / NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M LE [2GB DDR3] I have tried running qemu (compiled on target system - straight ./configure, make, make install) with
qemu 1.6.1 and 1.7.0 and the problem is identical with both versions.
Tried -vga cirrus and -vga std, identical results.

Any pointers as to what to look at next?
I'm stumped right now.

TIA,
Emre
