none specific, just own manual reading and some googling.
i do have ppc and sparc versions running nicely since 0.15 to 1.2.0

just alpha version qemu crashes with no backtrace or error, in ide and sata modes

the scripts to launch are more or less this:
ftp://ftp.pld-linux.org/people/glen/ac-ppc.sh
ftp://ftp.pld-linux.org/people/glen/ac-sparc.sh

Noticed your post attem pting to launch a non-x86 QEMU emulator

Curious what instruction guide you're following?

any help from here?

i've tried different livecds here, my own, gentoo one, debian one. then all
crash more or less with this driver. so the fault must be in qemu code
somewhere.

?1. Isn't cmd64x a "quirks" driver to work around known bugs in the CMD 64x
IDE chipsets?

?2. If yes, then the next question is if the qemu emulated hardware looks
anything like a CMD 64x?.

?3 If no to ?2, how does cmd64x.ko determine if the IDE chipset is one that
cmd64x.ko should
handle?

Enjoy
