I have downloaded both the qemu-1.1.0 from qemu.org and qemu-kvm-1.1-rc4 from sourceforge.net and successfully built the binaries with just doing ./configure. My previous builds (0.12.5 and 0.15.1) were all using the qemu-kvm branch. On 6/4/2012 11:49 AM, Jake Thomas wrote:Thank you Mr. Chou for the reply. I'll have to try that once I get my system up.No but I will. I thought 0.15.1 was the latest and it seemed to work pretty well. But I have to say that 0.15 sounds pretty old. What about 1.1.0? Have you tried anything above version 1?Cheers, Jake
I did notice that the qemu-system-x86_64 from qemu-1.1.0 runs much slower than the one from qemu-kvm-1.1-rc4 even after I did a ./configure --enable-kvm. After reading the KVM page from qemu.org I realized I need to provide extra runtime options to turn on the acceleration. I will stick with the qemu-kvm binaries for now until they merge in the future.. The build time using the qemu-kvm branch is also much faster.
