Hello,
I have just run nbench on my host machine (debian
3.0/gcc3.4.0/binutils2.14) and on my qemu guest (solaris9/sun studio9) and
found that:
host:
==============================LINUX DATA BELOW===============================
CPU : GenuineIntel Pentium III (Coppermine) 996MHz
L2 Cache : 256 KB
OS : Linux 2.6.4
C compiler : gcc version 3.4.0
libc : ld-2.2.5.so
MEMORY INDEX : 4.548
INTEGER INDEX : 4.583
FLOATING-POINT INDEX: 7.538
Baseline (LINUX) : AMD K6/233*, 512 KB L2-cache, gcc 2.7.2.3, libc-5.4.38
guest:
==============================LINUX DATA BELOW===============================
CPU :
L2 Cache :
OS : SunOS 5.9
C compiler : cc
libc :
MEMORY INDEX : 0.327
INTEGER INDEX : 0.341
FLOATING-POINT INDEX: 0.464
Baseline (LINUX) : AMD K6/233*, 512 KB L2-cache, gcc 2.7.2.3, libc-5.4.38
so the ratio between host and guest is:
memory index : 13.90
integer index : 13.43
floating-point index: 16.24
This is not that bad in comparison with for example bochs, but on the
other hand these results are twice slower than results on
http://fabrice.bellard.free.fr/qemu/benchmarks.html
What do you think about it?
Thanks,
Karel
