Hi folks :-)
since Luciano started with the region stuff, and since we still have to click
in the FS dialog ;-) , I thought about how to select multiple things in protux,
so here comes the result ... ;-)
it is still based on "S" as the center key for ALL select actions and a little
bit affected by filter controller actions and is maybe just an enhancement of
the basic principle: "select a thing first to perform an action on it":
(for general ... a thing could be a clip, track, node, folder in FS, ... )
^X<S> --> select just one thing; when another thing is already selected then
it will be de-selected
^X<AS> --> add new thing to existing selection
^X<SD> --> remove thing from existing selection
^X<<SD>> --> select all
^X<<AS>> --> de-select all
^X[S]+UDLR --> make a new (multiple) selection by drawing a rectangle above
all things user want to be selected
^X[AS]+UDLR --> add new thing(s) to existing selection by drawing a ...
^X[SD]+UDLR --> remove thing(s) from existing selection by drawing a ...
and finally ...
^X<<S>> --> open "remove thing(s) from existing selection dialog/window" and
use the same selection procedure also inside this dialog/window.
So the benefit of this procedure could be, that it could be used in all other
dialogs too, just like <FS>, for example, as a general select paradigm to
eliminate really ALL clicks in protux ;-)
just an idea .... RFC
