If I understand correctly, this require me basicaly give every workstation
read/write assess to my entire phpgw database right?  Am I the only one really
really scared by this?

You product would have a lot more value if it made use of the XMLRPC or SOAP
capabilities in phpgw, and if the interfaces that do exsist aren't mature 
enough,
what better way to make them mature than to subit patches?  Using these 
interfaces
would allow secure remote access and allow your application to work with pgsql 
and
all the other databases that work with phpgw.
