typicaly this type of behavior is because the php-imap module isn't actually 
loaded.
  Not to say this is the case here, it's just usualy the cause of this typoe of
problem. felami uses it's own imap socket class, and the default has an 
unfinished
socket class with several nasty bugs left to fix.

Double check the  PHP information section in the Admin app and make sure you 
have an
IMAP section..

Also, is the imap server on the same box or ?
