Did you compile php support into your php install??

Also you should grabbing anglemail from http://www.anglemail.com/  it is
a drop in replacement for the stock email app.  It will be in cvs in the
next couple of days too.  Anglemail has a work around for the problem
with RH7.3 and imap.
