phpgw needs php and ldap, the rest should be not important. You should think
about upgrading php, version 4.2.3 is now the newest version. Maybe the
problems come from an old ldap implementation of php?!

But on the other hand I think ldap is broken on 0.9.14. Another guy has also
lots of problems and nobody (at least on this list) reported a working
installation of phpgw and ldap and how he made it. Maybe the cvs versions
are better.

I'll wait for the next release and try again.
