hmm ok so here is what I did (simple example). I hope this helps make 
the problem clearer.

So I setup the default with no admin rights, no calendar, no todo, and say 
no messenger..

when I create a new user. and select the group to be default.. then hit 
save.. then I check the user.. and well yes the user is part of the 
default group.. but it is assigned as an admin (with rights if you login 
as them), and has all of the above?

any ideas why that is.
