[Phpgroupware-users] RC4 Slower

Chris, thanks for the performance timing idea. It
sure is easier than using a stopwatch. After
comparing the response time with RC1 versus RC4, it
turn out that on average the calendar funtion is about
20% 25% slower on the latest version even after the
time sync changes. It also seems that the more events
that you have in the calendar database, the slower it
gets.

I realize that the calendar App is the most resource
intensive, but it seems to me that their might still
be a problem in there someplace. I've got about 20
users keeping track of about 30 calendars on a 500 mhz
machine with nothing else running on it and my users
have mentioned the lack of responsivness in the app on
more than one occasion. Given this, I'm not sure that
the current system could scale up to support 100 or
more users without some fairly large investments in
hardware.

One thought that I have is to keep the files cleaned
up so they don't get too large. Is there a way from
within phpGroupWare to delete old records from the
calendar and error log files?

Thanks again for all of your help.

Paul.
