Hi,
at the moment, I'm testing with only one user called lars. I've created an
account for PHPGroupware with the
user lars and password test. Then I'm using Cyrus 2.0.16 and there I've
created a new account with the cyradm
tool called lars. I've also created an Suse Linux Account for a user called
lars.
At PHPGroupware I tried several different settings, but I always get the
same message:
"There was an error trying to connect to your mail server. Please, check
your username and password, or contact your admin."

After that login, here is what my imapd.log says:

mailtest01:/var/log # tail imapd.log
Feb 19 15:13:10 mailtest01 master[4444]: process 5061 exited, status 0
Feb 19 15:13:32 mailtest01 master[5067]: about to exec /usr/cyrus/bin/imapd
Feb 19 15:13:32 mailtest01 service-imap[5067]: executed
Feb 19 15:13:32 mailtest01 imapd[5067]: dracconn: localhost: RPC: Port
mapper failure - RPC: Unable to receive
Feb 19 15:13:32 mailtest01 imapd[5067]: DRAC DISABLED
Feb 19 15:13:32 mailtest01 imapd[5067]: accepted connection
Feb 19 15:13:32 mailtest01 imapd[5067]: badlogin:
mailtest01.europe.heraeus.com[172.24.18.197] LOGIN authentication failure
Feb 19 15:13:38 mailtest01 last message repeated 2 times
Feb 19 15:14:28 mailtest01 imapd[5067]: accepted connection
Feb 19 15:14:28 mailtest01 imapd[5067]: badlogin:
mailtest01.europe.heraeus.com[172.24.18.197] LOGIN authentication failure

The file localmessages has the same content like imapd.log
And here ist what the file messages says:

mailtest01:/var/log # tail messages
Feb 19 15:13:32 mailtest01 imapd[5067]: accepted connection
Feb 19 15:13:32 mailtest01 imapd[5067]: badlogin:
mailtest01.europe.heraeus.com[172.24.18.197] LOGIN authentication failure
Feb 19 15:13:38 mailtest01 last message repeated 2 times
Feb 19 15:14:28 mailtest01 imapd[5067]: accepted connection
Feb 19 15:14:28 mailtest01 imapd[5067]: badlogin:
mailtest01.europe.heraeus.com[172.24.18.197] LOGIN authentication failure
Feb 19 15:14:34 mailtest01 last message repeated 2 times
Feb 19 15:15:37 mailtest01 master[4444]: process 5067 exited, status 0
Feb 19 15:20:36 mailtest01 master[5104]: about to exec
/usr/cyrus/bin/ctl_mboxlist
Feb 19 15:20:36 mailtest01 ctl_mboxlist[5104]: checkpointing mboxlist
Feb 19 15:20:36 mailtest01 master[4444]: process 5104 exited, status 0

It seems to be a Cyrus SASL problem, I've installed the package
Cyrus-SASL-1.5.24-184.src.rpm.

Then, I've also created a connection to my Cyrus mailserver with MS Outlook
Express. When I try to get my mails there, I don't get an
error message.
But the problem with the MDA isn't solved yet. When I'm sending a mail via
Linux, Sendmail doesn't use deliver, I get the message
in the home directory of user lars.

Greetings,
Lars
