Hi ppl,

I've been running phpgw 0.9.12 on a FreeBSD 4.4-REL for about 3 months
with no major pb. Today, we've noticed that whenever somebody tries to
access the March 2002 month in the calendar, the httpd process's cpu
usage sky rockets from 8% approx to 80%+. Here is a snapshot of top's
output during one of these situations:
CPU states: 76.3% user, 0.0% nice, 23.0% system, 0.8% interrupt, 0.0%
idle
Mem: 37M Active, 42M Inact, 17M Wired, 8K Cache, 35M Buf, 154M Free
Swap: 512M Total, 512M Free

PID USERNAME PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME WCPU CPU COMMAND
10862 www 60 0 14268K 11520K RUN 1:05 84.72% 84.72% httpd

Trying to access a given day on March 2002 works like a charm. This
situation only occurs when "clicking" on the month link. The same
happens with April 2002 & May 2002 but not with June, July, & August
2002 !?!

The following error gets logged to the apache error log during these
funny situations:
[Mon Jan 21 14:43:43 2002] [error] PHP Fatal error: Maximum execution
time of 60 seconds exceeded in
/var/www/phpgroupware/phpgwapi/inc/class.Template.inc.php on line 156.
the line 156 contains:
$str = str_replace($v, $this->varvals[$k], $str);

raising the max exec time to 120 secs didn't help.

Tech specs:
-----------
FreeBSD 4.4-REL on PIII 500Mhz with 256M of RAM
MySQL 3.23.45
phpgroupware 0.9.12 with french localization
apache+mod_ssl-1.3.22+2.8.5_1, mod_php4-4.1.1
7 users accessing the calendar app (the only app used in phpgw) in a
regular basis. tech population.

TIA for any help you might provide. We are relying heavily on this app.

# buy a geek-in-a-can, point nozzle at technical problem and spray
# if desesperate degauss your screen. it might solve your pb as well
