When importing a netscape addressbook :

Groups are recorded as contact, they should not.

When groups are encountered, you should automatically 
create a (global) category, and put the relevant 
contact in it.

This is a feature request and has been marked as such.  The
request will be evaluated, and possibly included in the next (or
later) release.
