LOCK is required for .14, I don't recall if .12 required it too so it may be a
new for .14 thing.

Summary: Database error: lock(Array, write) failed.

Original Submission: Hi,

I have installed phpgroupware 0.9.16.RC1, and successfully setup "Header Admin"
and "Config Admin". A db and about 193 tables were created.

PHP Version 4.3.2

Mysql Version 4.0.15-standard

When I tried to login as the new admin user, I got the following error:

"Database error: lock(Array, write) failed.

MySQL Error: 1044 (Access denied for user: 'address@hidden' to database
'matrixu_gw')

Session halted."

Does not seems to be a permission, as 193 tables were created. Is there a
locking issue? Does anyone knows how to resolve this?? Thanks!

Best Regards,

Derrick Lo

Hi CW, skwashd, and CK:

Thanks for the info, I am able to login to phpGW now. My web server is hosted,
and I have asked the admin to grant lock permission for my DB user.

Just wondering, we did not have locking control prior to phpgroupware
0.9.16.RC1? I thought phpgroupware 0.9.14 did not have this?

Thanks again,

Derrick Lo

LOCK is seperate permission DB permissions and is used in phpgw to ensure
consistance, which is not needed in setup as it's a single user type of
environment.

GRANT ALL gives LOCK but some shared hosts don't give you this by default.
There is no work around, you must have LOCK permission or corrupt data is
imminent.

This is a config issue and not a bug.

is this hosted?

are you sure that you have grant lock enabled for the user?
